Picton sits at the top of the South Island of New Zealand within the Marlborough Region, an area renowned for its sunshine, art and wine.
Travelling across the Cook Strait by ferry is a wonderful experience, one which on a good day can easily be a highlight of a holiday. Discover the reason Aotearoa is the Island of the Long White Cloud, and either stand on deck and feel the wind in your hair, or sit comfortably inside and watch the changing seascape through the windows. The 92km voyage takes 3 hours and has been described as "one of the most beautiful ferry rides in the world".

Seeing the Marlborough Sounds on the ferry is wonderful, but do explore further into these stunning waterways, either by watertaxi or even by kayak.
Booking your ferry journey early can sometimes save you quite a bit.
